Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY... November 9th, 2009

Outside my window... Gray skies . . . nothing but gray skies

I am thinking... of how grateful I am to have an industrious Honey that got around and got all the leaves up out of the yard this weekend. Even if he did get his truck stuck when he went to dump them!

I am thankful for... good friends and good fellowship

I am wearing... a white nightgown

I am remembering... Thanksgivings past - good times with family

I am going... to be busy, busy at work this week

I am reading... Stillmeadow and Sugarbridge - found at the thrift store for a quarter!

I am hoping... to get some organizing done this week

On my mind... the soldier's families at Ft. Hood - praying for peace

Noticing that... it gets dark SOOO early now - cozy evenings here I come!

Pondering these words... If you want to measure a man's integrity - give him power. I think George Washington said that.

From the kitchen... pancakes, eggs and sausage - by request of my menfolk

Around the house... not a lot - I think one more load of laundry and a bit of organizing

One of my favorite things . . .fixing my Honey's breakfast - knowing that I am giving him a good start to the day

Got Daybook?

Will be doing some posting on here of recipes - as soon as I get my organizing done. I have a whole slew of them ready to make and post.

I would like to thank you all for your kind comments - know that I do check up on your blogs, I just may not comment every time, but I do read! Keep up the good work!

I am impressed with your fixing a cooked breakfast. Is this something you do often? I can't help but imagine the clean up for this. I would like to do it too but all that extra washing up, plus the fact the children aren't that keen stops me form trying really.
God Bless

It doesn't take long to write a line. It's very encouraging to me and others. I don't care for the line "thanks for visiting my blog" It's a bit selfish. I enjoyed your blog. You had a better breakfast than we did. You must spoil your honey. Have a great week. Doylene

Ladies, yes, I do cook breakfast for my Honey each morning - although most days it consists of this: Orange juice, a banana or other fruit, coffee, yogurt, 2 pieces of toast and 2 eggs, over easy.
I pour the juice and set the yogurt, fruit, butter and preserves on the table along with a knife, fork and spoon. He is already drinking his coffee. I pop 2 pieces of bread in the toaster when I get the bread out to make his sandwich for work. Then I just grab a skillet, spray with non-stick cooking spray and heat it on low-medium heat, crack in the two eggs, break the yolks (that is how he likes them), sprinkle with Nature's Seasons by Morton and let them cook a bit. When they are firm enough for me to flip, I push the plunger on the toaster, flip the eggs and turn the stove off. By the time the toast is done, so are the eggs. Dirty dishes - one skillet, one pancake turner, one fork, one spoon, one knife, one plate, one coffee cup, one juice glass. It usually only takes me 5 minutes or so, maybe 10 at the most. I vary it a bit, sometimes cook a bit of meat or make some hashbrowns, a cinnamon roll instead of toast. Voila - breakfast for hungry Honey!
